Volunteers are the driving force behind our substance abuse prevention efforts here at West River Valley Thrives. West River Valley community members possess a wide variety of talents and skills; together we can create positive change in our community. We welcome you to share your talent with our coalition!

Thrives currently has four major work groups:

  • Youth “Above the Influence” Group
  • Parent Engagement Group
  • Communications Group
  • Community Hope and Action Group

Volunteers are encouraged to get involved in the coalition by selecting one more groups in which to work. New work groups are created as needed. Volunteer opportunities are flexible, as our coalition members come from a wide variety of sectors, including youth, parents, school faculty/staff, hospital staff, the media, local businesses, law enforcement, the church, state substance abuse agencies and others. Opportunities range from helping plan events to office assistance, including a host of things in between.

Let us know how you’d like to get involved by emailing Program Coordinator, Rebecca Keppler, at wrvthrives@gmail.com or calling the office at 802-365-4700.

You can also drop by one of our monthly coalition meetings (see blog and Facebook page for updates regarding date/time/location).
